Most TVs sold today have UHD resolutions, with the exception of some 8k options and some 720p or 1080p TVs. Since a lot of streaming content is in UHD, it's also beneficial to have a UHD TV so you don't have to upgrade anything. There are many factors you must consider when looking for the best UHD TV, including where you will be watching the TV. The OLED models are ideal for viewing the content in a dark room, while the LEDs are much brighter. Choosing your next TV can come down to personal preference, and no choice is perfect.

We've tested many TVs and below are our recommendations for the best UHD TVs of 2023 you can buy.

Top Picks

  1. LG C1 OLED

The best UHD TV we've tested with an OLED panel is the LG C1 OLED. It's a premium TV that offers good value compared to other OLEDs as it packs a lot of gaming features and it's great for most uses. It comes with a sleek center stand and it has a slim design that sits close to the wall if you want to mount it.

  1. SONY A90J OLED

If you like something that is generally a little better for watching movies and offers the best movie viewing experience than the LG C1 OLED, then check out the Sony A90J OLED. All OLEDs deliver similar picture quality due to near-infinite contrast and perfect black levels, but some differences lie in the processor or type of OLED panel used. It uses a different type of OLED panel which allows it to be brighter, especially in HDR, and the highlights are more prominent.

Besides, it has much better gradient handling, so you shouldn't notice any banding and some people might like its upgrade. Also, the accuracy out of the box is excellent, which Sony TVs are famous for. Sadly, it doesn't currently have LG-like gaming features, such as VRR support.

  1. Samsung QN90A QLED

One of the best UHD TV we've tested with an LED panel is the Samsung QN90A QLED. It's a great all-around TV, and the picture quality looks great for most uses. The main advantage of using an LED TV over an OLED is that it doesn't risk permanent burn-in, so you won't have to worry about damage to the screen after prolonged exposure to the static elements.

  1. HISENSE U6G

If you're on a budget, the Hisense U6G is the best UHD TV we've tested. It's a great all-around TV with a user-friendly Android TV interface that's pretty easy to use. You have a wide range of apps available for download through the Google Play Store, and a remote with a microphone gives you access to the Google Assistant.

  1. Hisense H8G

If you want to spend less money on a high-end TV, the Hisense H8G is a great alternative. While it doesn't have a Mini LED backlight like the Samsung QN90A QLED, it's still bright in HDR and has excellent local dimming for deep blacks.

It also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+ formats, and Android TV has a lot of built-in apps available through the app store, so you can easily stream your favorite HDR content. Visibility also won't be an issue in bright rooms because of its excellent reflection handling and peak brightness.

Sadly, it has narrow viewing angles and issues with its motion handling. There are noticeable red ghosting and motion artifacts, but this is more of an issue in Game Mode.

Buying Guide

Size: This is the key factor in the TV buying process. It is based on the size you watch TV in your home.

Resolution: You should choose a TV with a high screen resolution because these types of TVs are likely to give you better details. Usually, TVs have a global resolution of 1920×1080, which is called full HD. But now, in the modern era, it is moving to 4K.

Cables: You should choose the HDMI 2.1 as it's suitable for 4K or Full HD, but you may need a new higher-speed cable if you want to connect an 8K source to it.

Final Thoughts

These TVs are the best options for enjoying all the Ultra HD content available - Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV, and Sky Q all have UHD at the moment. Alternatively, you can purchase a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. Basically, there's never been a better time to take the plunge.

Although choosing the Best UHD TV can be difficult, with our guide, you can do it.
