If you have an Xbox Series X or are thinking of buying one, you may need a new TV to go with it in order to take full advantage of the Series X's potential. You're better off looking for something that has a 120Hz panel and HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, as the Series X can output up to 120fps for smoother and more responsive gameplay. Xbox also supports 1440p games, so it's important that you have a TV that supports it.

It's important to find a TV with good motion handling and low input lag for a responsive gaming experience. Below is the Best TVs For The Xbox Series X of 2023.

Top picks

  1. LG C1 OLED

Like all OLED TVs, this TV delivers impressive picture quality, with deep, inky blacks with perfect uniformity, even in Game Mode as it can toggle individual pixels on and off. It has a great wide color gamut for the latest HDR games and supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision gaming, including Dolby Vision 4k @ 120Hz from Xbox Series X.

Like all OLEDs, it has a response time almost instantaneous, resulting in extremely clear, virtually blur-free motion behind fast-moving objects.

  1. Samsung QN90A QLED

You won't have any problems connecting your Xbox Series X to the QN90A as it has HDMI 2.1 bandwidth on one input, allowing you to play 4k games at up to 120fps, including in HDR mode, but it doesn't support Dolby Vision. The motion looks smooth thanks to its excellent response time, and it features an optional backlight strobe to reduce intermittent blur with fast-moving content.

Gaming also feels responsive thanks to its low input lag, and it has native FreeSync VRR support to reduce screen tearing.

  1. Hisense U6G

This TV has a fast response time that makes motion look smooth, and even though the backlight flickers, it's at such a high frequency that most people won't notice. It also has an optional backlight strobe feature that reduces the continuum blur, but it creates image duplication.

The gameplay feels responsive thanks to low input lag, and you won't notice any lag when registering your actions. If you tend to game in a dark room, it displays deep blacks thanks to its high contrast ratio, and it has decent local dimming.

  1. VIZIO 50-Inch M-Series

If you prefer something with VRR support and don't mind the impact on image quality, then check out the Vizio M7 Series Quantum 2021. It's not as bright as the Hisense U6G, so it doesn't perform well in bright rooms. However, it has native FreeSync support to reduce screen tearing and still deliver great gaming performance thanks to its low input lag and fast response times.

Like Hisense, it has a VA panel with an excellent native contrast ratio, but the full-array local dimming is mediocre and it doesn't improve image quality much in dark scenes. The TV also has trouble scaling reasonably lower-resolution content, but that shouldn't be a problem if you're playing high-resolution games.

Buying Guide

Input lag:

A dedicated Game Mode adorns all modern TVs. These tend to eliminate image processing to reduce input lag. Low input lag is important when it comes to competitive gaming, but it's also important if you're spending time on Animal Crossing.

Low input lag without all the processed sugar and spices, which means eye candy is lost. This is why Samsung offers two levels of Game Mode - more to come later. Unacceptable input lag when gaming on TVs higher than 30ms. Some of our selected monitors have blisters of 15ms or less.

ALLM:

ALLM (Automatic Low Latency Mode) allows the TV to automatically switch to the Game mode when it receives an ALLM signal from your console. When the ALLM signal ends, the TV returns to the previous picture mode. Simply put, it's a nifty feature.

HDMI VRR (Variable Refresh Rate):

This is a standard adopted by game consoles that allows games to give the TV a frame as soon as it is displayed. This ensures low input lag and involves judder and tearing that can be seen if frames are sent at a fixed frequency that doesn't match the rendering rate.

All in all, HDMI VRR is a good thing, although you'll only find it on more expensive TVs. The only TV maker that currently offers VRR and ALLM, along with a high frame rate of 4K video, is LG.

Final Thoughts

The Best TVs For The Xbox Series X have become quite a necessity, all considered. Now that the latest generation of consoles is established, you should ensure that you have one of the best gaming TVs available, and one that can perform cutting-edge graphics and smooth frame rates at high levels.
