A few years ago, if you wanted to buy a decent LCD TV, chances are you wouldn't be able to find any good models for around $500. While the best models still cost more, you can find cheap models that can serve you well in this price range, depending on your needs.

Keep in mind that most models come in a variety of sizes, so if you want a TV under $500 but aren't willing to compromise on quality, you can always opt for a smaller size set, but not all TVs are available in these smaller sizes.
