Screen Size
The size of your TV screen relative to the space in which you will use it can make all the difference in your viewing experience. If you have a large family room or basement, a 65 or 75-inch TV will provide an almost cinematic experience. Resolution
One of the most important specifications to consider on a TV is resolution, which is the number of pixels that make up the image on the screen. The more pixels, the sharper the image. Many larger screen TVs have 4K resolution, four times that of 1080p.
The most recent TVs produced have 8K resolution, twice the number of pixels in 4K. But expensive 8K TVs and a lot of streaming content can't take advantage of the technology yet (though more is expected soon). This makes 4K the most popular, desirable, and budget-friendly choice for most consumers. All the TVs on this list have a resolution of at least 4k and are all smart TV models.
Display Technology
TVs that use LCD or LED panels have bright, durable liquid-crystal pixels, and typically have the lowest price tag. LCD screens use fluorescent backlighting, while LED screens use light-emitting diodes for the backlight.
LED screens generally have outstanding image quality. But LCD and LED panels often have limited viewing angles and no control over the light in images and other technologies.
Higher quality TVs use quantum dots, sometimes called QLEDs, which provide a more comprehensive color gamut than you can get with most LCD panels. The technology uses microscopic particles of different sizes allowing each size to emit a different color.
TVs with OLED technology use organic phosphorus. Each pixel can produce its own light, which produces better lighting accuracy and contrast than LCD TVs. OLED TVs can be seen from a wider viewing angle than LCD TVs without any loss of contrast or color loss. But OLED TVs can be quite expensive and not as bright as LCD TVs.
The relatively new and expensive MiniLED technology shrinks the LED modules that provide backlighting for LCD screens, resulting in deeper blacks.
